fuinque, m. - n. vulg. de un árbol del Sur con hojas elegantemente pinadas, Lomatia ferruginea, Gay, Bot. V 310. Es medicinal. Tambien se llama piune i romerillo. Cp. tb. Fonck-menendez II 213.

Será mapuche; talvez relacionado con Febrés: vuùn - nervio; | vuùngey - está piltrafoso, nervudo; | vuünkei significaria mas o ménos lo mismo "está mui piltrafoso"; talvez por el aspecto algo desnudo del árbol.
