nota

Chon?:noquen / probably 'Myocastor coypus', the word is attested as 'Nutria' in an 1875 Hidrographic report, where an indiginous person from the 'Las Guaitecas' islands, south of Chiloé gives the word 'noque'. The idiginous person is said to speak 'payo' and to reflect 'ancient Chon', although most words transcribed are clearly Mapudungun. (Thanks to RBA)
